Working on final edit of my book

I finished editing my first book called Loving Yourself and Other Unlovable People. Wisdom of the Woodcutter.

My experiences and insights (after a divorce from a 30 yr marriage, being single again, and now a 2nd marriage of 15 yr) are told in a story form about an elderly woodcutter who mentors a younger man.

Some excepts from the book follow:

"I was convinced that I needed to make better choices in partners." The woodcutter said I needed to become a better choice.

"I spent a lot of effort and energy trying to change others." The woodcutter believed I could only effect change in myself.

"I was convinced that my caretakers were the cause of my problems. If I could get them to apologize and plead for my forgiveness, all would change." The woodcutter showed me that I had to forgive them and release judgment regardless of their actions and then I would change.

"I wanted better relationships with healthier people." The woodcutter said I had to be willing to pay the price to make changes in my own life. Then better people would be attracted to me.

It seems like it will be a great book. The messages are pretty powerful and can definitely be used to improve myself. I tend to hold on to bad experiences and almost want the other person to wish they hadn't treated me that way. Although I would like to think I have moved on, I guess I haven't if I spend too much time trying to do unto others.
